No, it accented to indicate how it is to be sung, crown-ed, not crowned. Similar conventions are to be found in other hymns of the period. Apwoolrich 07:53, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Found no less than three different tunes for this hymn. Most hymnals had two of the three versions. They were added in no particular order.
