Copyright registered
[edit]I see a copyright registration here Google Books for Oct. 2 1936. Have you checked there was no notice on the 1936 original rather than the reprint? I don't see a renewal so I suspect this is {{PD-no-renewal}} rather than no notice? MarkLSteadman (talk) 01:29, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- (reading commons license poster...) Does that mean it needs to be moved to here?--RaboKarbakian (talk) 01:44, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- It is fine to host on Commons since the origin of the work is the US it is PD in the country of origin as well in the US. MarkLSteadman (talk) 01:46, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- MarkLSteadman: Assuming the original copyright is legitimate, the original is
PD-US-no renewal
and the reprint isPD-US-no notice
. That can be updated, if necessary. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 02:12, 26 October 2021 (UTC)- In general, I am pretty confident than 99% of reprints, 2nd impressions etc. are tagged with the original copyright tags rather than {{PD-US-no-notice}} or {{PD-ineligible}}. For example White Nights and Other Stories, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, Metamorphoses (Miller), Nicomachean Ethics (Chase), etc. New editions, (and especially under new titles) may be tagged as such but we generally haven't for reprints (maybe we should create a reprint license similar to {{translation license}} MarkLSteadman (talk) 09:22, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
