Akrotiki

In my browsing around for different versions of the WFB, I've noticed that Akrotiki does not show up in this year's book. I'm downloading the 2005 version to see if it shows up there (it definitely appears in the 2006), but can anyone find a 2004 version where it does show up? Well, these pages are actually all misnamed. These were actually captured from the web site on 26 March, 2005, so should probably be named 2005. I named the overall page to correspond to the already uploaded pages so as not to cause too much confusion. But someone with some experience with bots may want to write something to rename them all. - illy 14:14, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

I just downloaded the 2004 version from the WFB site, and it contains a page for Akrotiki. - illy 19:06, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

big changes: maps, formatting, and the intro page

Hello all,

Over the last few days I have made a few changes to bring this text to life. I have fixed the maps for a third of the countries to be where when the text was published. The list of the countries that got fixed are:

World, Afghanistan, Armenia, Atlantic Ocean, Austria, Bhutan, Cook Islands, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), Faroe Islands, French Guiana, French Polynesia, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Gabon, Georgia, Iceland, Lithuania, Marshall Islands, Martinique, Northern Mariana Islands, Greenland, Grenada, Italy, Kiribati, Liechtenstein, Micronesia, Federated States of, Montserrat, Navassa Island, New Caledonia, Liechtenstein, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Poland, Pitcairn Islands, Southern Ocean, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles, Tunisia, Turks and Caicos Islands, Singapore, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Other countries had issues with flags and formatting. The list of the countries that fixed are:

Ashmore and Cartier Islands, Atlantic Ocean, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Coral Sea Islands, Gaza Strip, Haiti, Indian Ocean, Iceland, Indian Ocean, Mongolia, Pacific Ocean, Paracel Islands, Puerto Rico, Southern Ocean, Spratly Islands, West Bank, Western Sahara, World

I have also fixed the front page by correcting a typo with Netherlands Antilles, fixing the formatting and updating the Wikipedia blurb, and removing the listing for United States Pacific Island Wildlife Refuges. It was not in the World Factbook in March 2005. See here for the list of countries.

I'm working off the February 2005 revision which is the only 2004 file available for download at the CIA site. I'm also using Wayback as a guide. Hope this helps. Hoshie (talk) 02:35, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
