The inclusion of the CFR in Wikisource appears to violate the evolving works policy. Perhaps the federal register would be appropriate. Snapshots of the CFR at particular times could be possible. unsigned comment by 69.121.99.167 (talk) 14:48, 29 September 2008.

We have a few texts that are evolving works, the most notable being USC, with Title 17 being the best part of it. The typical approach is to have separate texts which contain the the actual bills, acts, etc and then reference those on the "evolving work" so that readers can know it is accurate as of a certain date. We dont do a lot of work on these texts, so they need a lot of work before they are ready to be cited as accurate. John Vandenberg (chat) 19:39, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The notes have been changed to emphasize that people should go to the eCFR for up-to-date information, and that info here is only of historical interest to the Wikipedia projects or something. I'm not sure what the year cutoff will be though, other than whatever happens to be uploaded, I guess.--Randomstaplers (talk) 20:09, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
