Information about this edition
Edition:
Source: This is a consolidated version of the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement. It is based on:
  • the official English language translation of the Convention and the (incomplete) list of amendments published on EUR-lex (OJ L 239, 22.9.2000, p. 19), and
  • Council Decision of 20 May 1999 determining, in conformity with the relevant provisions of the Treaty establishing the European Community and the Treaty on European Union, the legal basis for each of the provisions or decisions which constitute the Schengen acquis (1999/436/EC) (OJ L 176, 10.7.1999, p. 17.), which lists the provisions of the Schengen acquis which were incorporated in EU law by virtue of the Amsterdam Treaty.

[edit]

Actually the idea behind this document was to keep an up-to-date consolidated version of the Schengen Convention. This was the original idea. No official consolidation has ever been published so the only source is an official English translation published in 2000, and various legal acts amending the Convention since then, most of which are listed here.

The reason is said 19 July 2013 was that that was the last time it had been amended, In fact some of Glentamara's edit were changes made before that date which I had missed.

I don't think it makes much sense to ossify the convention as a random point in time. — Blue-Haired Lawyer 16:18, 12 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
