Gliders are also heavier-than-air-aircraft

[edit]

There is a minor error in the Wikisource introduction. Thomas Selfridge was indeed the first powered heavier-than-air aircraft fatality. Prior to this, however, Otto Lillienthal had been killed on a glider Aug 10, 1896. Percy Pilcher had been killed on a glider Sep 30, 1899. Daniel Maloney had been killed on a glider Jul 18 1905. Therefore, Selfridge was the fourth heavier-than-air aircraft fatality. --Nopara (talk) 00:54, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
