Talk:Grimm's Household Tales
Add topicprogress
[edit]The existing pages are from three sources: Hunt (1884), Edwardes/Taylor (1902), and Taylor (unknown). The first two had scans, and were used to replace the tales under their own titles with versions pages and redirects. The variants on Taylor are now being moved to Index:Grimm Goblins (1876).djvu, I can do no more to preserve the pages without a source. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 11:21, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
[publication question]
[edit]What is the date of publication for this? An 1884 publication of these texts show them to be a translation ONLY of Margaret Hunt.
See gutenberg text: http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext04/grimm10a.txt
As per Gutenberg.org:
Household Tales by brothers Grimm, translated by Margaret Hunt
These fairy tales by brothers Grimm are based on the original 1884 translation "Household Tales" of Margaret Hunt.
- Noted, until its checked I'll mark it as unknown. Cygnis insignis (talk) 15:36, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Double redirects
[edit]This work has a growing list of double redirects upon every refresh of the Special Page for double redirects. Can someone please address them? George Orwell III (talk) 18:41, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Apologies for that, but there will be lots of little and large moves involved. The whole business is complicated by existing and new versions, and that I want to make sure the page history is preserved. Doing them all will be much more efficient when the titles stabilise. Is is possible to ignore them for a little while? I could give you a break from that special page while the havoc is occurring. cygnis insignis 19:50, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Just to clarify:
- Raven (Grimm) (edit) → The Raven (Grimm) → Grimm's Fairy Tales/The Raven
The Raven (Grimm) is already ambiguous, it will become a version page and every permutation of that title will redirect to that. cygnis insignis 19:56, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Of course it can, and should be in light of your explaination, ignored.
- As long as folks working on these pages are aware of the unfinished moves there is no problem with that list growing on my end at all. Can't speak for anybody else though. I may have touched a few last week - just restore/edit as you see fit (sorry about that but there was no 'work-in progress' tag or anything to go by hint, hint).
