I have found references to the fable as "The Emperor's New Suit", could this have been the original title?

The original title was Keiserens Nye Klæder. Klæder translates most literally to clothes, so "clothes" is more correct than "suit."

Is Mrs. H. B. Paull really the translator?

[edit]

The translation is identical to H. Oskar Sommer's translation (cf. https://books.google.dk/books?hl=ja&id=l_MpAQAAMAAJ&dq=google+books+andersen+faily+tales+sommer&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=suit). I have not been able to find any printed translation by Mrs. Paull at all. Hartmut Haberland (talk) 07:17, 29 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

It looks like the misattribution starts with a transcription from Virginia Tech's Eris Project viewable here, note the linebreaks identical to the original version of this page from history. Will try to figure out what to do with it later. Best option is identifying the printed sources and ProofreadPageifying everything. That takes investigative work and then work to reorganize and verify the transcription though. Prosody (talk) 04:22, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
