The original publication in Out of School at Eton can be found at Google Books. A reviewer in Ulula: The Manchester Grammar School Magazine (October 1877) singled out this piece as one of four good poems in the volume, describing it as "an exceedingly clever imitation of Lewis Carroll's 'Snark', on which it professes to be a criticism. His glorious roll is exceedingly well caught." See here at Google Books. The text appears to be identical (possibly with punctuation differences?) in the two volumes.
