Source: | Christian Classics Ethereal Library |
Contributor(s): | Quadell and his trusty sidekick Polbot |
Level of progress: | 50%: not proofread or standardised. |
Notes: | The source has many versions, including pagescans, text-only, and "ThML" (or "Theological Markup Language", so called), from which this Wikisource version was culled. I have done a quick once-over to compare this text to the original, but many formatting problems remain. Artifacts of the ThML, spacing, italics, etc. |

Homilies on the Statues
[edit]This page currently reads “Homilies on the Statutes” under Volume IX. This is incorrect: they are the famous Homilies on the Statues. (Specifically, they were statues of the Emperor Theodosius and his family destroyed by rioters in Antioch; see the Wikipedia article on John Chrysostom.) The text in the volume itself correctly reads “Statues.”
I changed “Statutes” to “Statues,” but my edit was immediately reverted by Jan.Kamenicek. I can’t ask why because the user’s talk page is protected.
I’m not going to spend any more time on a very obvious error, since it’s a minor one that affects only the Wikisource table of contents and not the text itself. It will have to stand until somebody else takes care of it. Cbaile19 (talk) 21:37, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
