Does anyone know what this excerpt is referring to? "Like the famous parrot, Nicholas thought a great deal, but was unable to utter a word." —unsigned comment by Fcampbel (talk) 11:28, 31 January 2008.

I havent found the answer, but I have found a similar reference in literaure here in a story called "The luckiest dog alive":

I could see by Mr. Grabb's manner that something unusual was going forward. His eye had a more restless glitter. His thin lips were occasionally drawn into a wicked smile. He said little, even to Mrs. Perkins; but, like the sailor's parrot, he thought a great deal.

”
