Level of progress: 75%: complete, proofread by one user, and standard.
Notes: Gutenberg says: "The non-english portions need proofing badly! i have neglected them for the most part. Chapter headers were italics as well and may yet have errors? Illustrations of the hardcopy intermingle with the text often, and so their markings are "rudely" placed mid-sentence in this etext as well within {} marks. my use of ?? marks are spots that need to be checked with another printing or edition as something *seems* missing but i cannot say what.... The poetry may have errors, particularly end of line punctuation."

Checked and edited German text and chapter headers, using the 1923 Everyman's Library edition.

Specifically:

  • edited Novalis text in foreword which was in bad shape ;-)
  • added German versions in headers,
  • edited English headers (checked typos, converted to italics, in a few instances converted CAPS to small/non-italics according to 1923; in some cases there is probably a layout difference between both editions: did what seemed best!)

I searched ?? and { in the text using browser search, and found none: I guess all have been corrected by now?!

If some checks should be done within chapters, please ask on this page, I'll look from time to time.

I've quickly looked over your changes, and they look good. Thank you very much! John Vandenberg (chat) 02:52, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
