Not by Shakespeare?
[edit]I have recently read an article on the online magazine Slate that claims A Lover's Complaint may be not by Shakespeare, but by a certain John Davies of Hereford, who was a contemporary and admirer of Shakespeare; should we change the attribution thusly? The article is here: [[1]] —unsigned comment by 68.226.83.209 (talk) 06:30, 13 June 2008.
- This is covered in the Wikipedia article. I'd leave the author title as Shakespeare since it is historically accepted, but add a note at the intro as to the authorship question. Whether to add a note after the author's name should be first suggested at the Scriptorium, as we'd prefer to maintain consistency between works, and this is not the only one with authorship problems. - Mtmelendez 13:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
