Lepracaun vs. Leprechaun

[edit]

Going purely by Google hits, it appears that "Lepracaun" is Allingham's original spelling, and thus should be reflected in the page title and in the poem itself. Is there any rationale for using the proper English "Leprechaun", or does the current page title just reflect an editor's assumption that there was a typo? I guess this page should move to The Lepracaun or Fairy Shoemaker, but I also don't think it should move until someone has checked the spelling and punctuation against an actual hardcopy paper book. --Quuxplusone 20:17, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
