Propose move
[edit]To throw a spanner in the work, I would much prefer if we moved this to "The Times" (first choice) or "The Times of London" (second choice) rather than where it is now. I have never heard it referred to as "London Times" always the first two. I cannot find any reference to it being called the current name is The Times, and when I browse random issues of archival copies, it is
- 1 Jan 1785 The Daily Universal Register
- 1 Jan 1800 The Times
- 2 Jan 1900 The Times
- 2 Jan 1984 The Times

Nomenclature for articles
[edit]To assist in the classification of articles, the following nomenclature is in place
[[The Times/YYYY/type/article name]] YYYY = year type = as below article name = name for article
- Example
- [[The Times/1906/News/Dr. Garnett's Library]]
- The Times/1906/News/Dr. Garnett's Library
- Types
- Arts
- Court circular
- Editorial
- Funeral
- Honours
- Inquest
- Letter to the Editor
- News
- Obituary
- Public notice
- Wills and bequests
To assist internal linking, one can use Template:The Times link, especially useful for Author: namespace pages. — billinghurst sDrewth 15:36, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
For The Times/1906/News/Dr. Garnett's Library
- "Dr. Garnett's Library," in The Times (1906)
Probably can do a specific template for adding to the table
[edit]Looking at the set out here, we can probably look to do a reasonable standard template that allows easier linking of works where they follow the more generic multiple levels that I used for {{The Times link}} (long links from Author namespace pages to articles. If that is seen of benefit, then I can apply my brain to it. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:32, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
