Usage
[edit]This template and the following notes have been modified from those found at {{EB1911}}.
Default
[edit]{{AMB1920
| previous =
| next =
| contributor =
}}
More complete
[edit]{{AMB1920
| previous =
| next =
| contributor =
| override_contributor =
| section =
| wikipedia = (to override WP applied link)
| extra_notes =
| override_notes =
}}
This template is meant to be used at the top of an article. The previous and next should be filled in, even when those entries have not been created yet.
This template is to be used at the top of every entry in the encyclopedia.
- | previous =
- Type in the name of the previous entry. It will create a link to it.
- | next =
- Same as above but goes to next entry.
- | contributor =
- Usually AMB articles have a known contributor. If this individual is known and entered here then the name will be automatically linked the entry in the "Author:" namespace.
- | override_contributor =
- This is useful if there is more than one contributor. To link to entries in the "Author:" namespace use
[[Author:first contributor|first contributor]],
etc.
- This is useful if there is more than one contributor. To link to entries in the "Author:" namespace use
- | wikipedia =
- (To override main subject (P921) supplied link from Wikidata) fill in the name of the article for this parameter.
- | extra_notes =
- This is useful for notifying the reader of significant changes in information about the subject since 1918. This is used very infrequently.
- | override_notes =
- Don't display the standard notes (the link to the disclaimer, "see also" and any extra notes), and just display whatever this argument contains in the notes section. This is used infrequently.
- | section =
- This is useful in extraordinary situations where the auto-generated display of the section name is not desired. For example, it is used to implement the examples below since otherwise the auto-generated section name for this documentation page would be displayed instead of the section name for the article corresponding to the example.

Wikipedia link different from article name
[edit]This is the case for virtually all articles, since Wikipedia uses first name first rather than last name first such as in this encyclopedia. For the example here, the spelling that Wikipedia uses differs from the spelling that AMB1920 uses:
{{AMB1920
| previous = McClellan, Ely
| next = McClellan, George (1849–1913)
| section = McClellan, George (1796–1847)
| wikipedia = George McClellan (physician)
}}
Contributor
[edit]{{AMB1920
| contributor = Francis Randolph Packard
| previous = Ruschenberger, William Samuel Waithman
| next = Russ, John Denison
| section = Benjamin Rush

Note
[edit]Any footer on this documentation page corresponds to one of the examples, and probably the first one rather than the last one.
