Template:Category redirect
|
Usage
[edit]Use on any category that should be redirected. This template should only be used on categories likely to be used by others, where another category already exists under a different name.
{{category redirect|correct category}}
Parameter
[edit]This template uses only one (unnamed) mandatory parameter. Enter the name of the correct category, ie. the target of the redirection. Do not include the "Category:" part of the page name.
A second parameter, category
can be used to prevent any categorisation from taking place.
Categorisation
[edit]When used in the Category namespace, this template automatically sorts categories into Category:Category redirects. Two additional tracking categories will be added in certain circumstances:
- Category:Non-empty category redirects, if there are items in the category that need to be moved.
- Category:Broken category redirects, if the target category does not exist.
This behaviour can be deactivated by adding the code |category=
to the template.
