Template:Ext scan link/doc

From Wikisource

Usage

[edit]

A small link to a scan of a work located outside Wikisource.

  • 1, 2, ...: links to any number of external scans
  • displayN: display text for the nth link
  • filenameN: preferred upload filename for this file (used by some scripts, not visible)

Single part sources

[edit]

If the work is available as a single file or at a single location, use just the first parameter:

Example

''In Northern Mists: Arctic Exploration in Early Times'' {{ext scan link|1=https://archive.org/details/innorthernmists00nansgoog}}

In Northern Mists: Arctic Exploration in Early Times (external scan)

Display text

[edit]

Example

''Orley Farm'' {{ext scan link
 | https://archive.org/details/OrleyFarm01
 | https://archive.org/details/OrleyFarm02
 | display1 = v. 1
 | display2 = v. 2
}}

Orley Farm (external scans (multiple parts): v. 1, v. 2)

Multiple parts

[edit]

If the work is split into parts or volumes, you can use more parameters:

Example

In Northern Mists: Arctic Exploration in Early Times {{ext scan link
 |1=https://archive.org/details/innorthernmists00nansgoog
 |2=https://archive.org/details/innorthernmists01nansgoog
 |3=https://archive.org/details/innorthernmists02nansgoog
}}

In Northern Mists: Arctic Exploration in Early Times (external scans (multiple parts): 1, 2, 3)

Note

The explicit use of the sequential parameters (1= 2= 3= ) is required when the URL contains an equals (=) sign.
