Usage

This template places a block of text on the left side of the page, without affecting the text alignment within that block.

This template also accepts an optional parameter, specifying the left offset in the same fashion as Template:Left, e.g. {{left block|text of block|offset=2em}} provides a 2em offset of the left margin to the entire block of text.

After some brief testing, the same left offset behaviour can be achieved with {{block left|style=margin-left:2em;|text of block}} which appears to be slightly better behaved with some surrounding templates (e.g. nearby {{dhr}}'s). I am not sure what benefits {{left block}} thereby provides over Template:Block left, if any.
