Template:Ligature Latin long-s-h
Usage
[edit]This template is for marking the Latin charset ligature ſh (long 's' + 'h'): ſh. As Unicode does not include this character directly, this template is only for marking occurrences of this ligature; it will not actually display the ligature (it will output a long 's' and an 'h' as two separate characters). In general, typographic ligatures such as ƈt, ff, fi, fl, and ſt should not be used in page text even if they appear in the original source (as they interfere with the searchability of the text). See Wikisource:Style guide/Orthography for more details.
Visibility
[edit]The appearance of long 's' or "s" can be toggled using the Visibility gadget.
By default, the gadget is disabled and "s" is shown, except in the Page namespace.
Demonstration: {{x-larger|{{ls+h}}}}
produces sh.
