This template creates the en dash character, used primarily for to–from ranges. For example, "September 1939–September 1945."

[edit]- To hyphenate words, use a hyphen; this is available on nearly all keyboards.
- For dashes that divide sentence fragments, use an em dash. {{--}} renders an em dash without surrounding hairspaces.
- For longer dash marks typically used to hyphenate names, especially in older novels, use the {{longdash}} template.
- For a variable-length mid-height bar consider {{bar}}.
