Template:Typewriter underline/doc

From Wikisource

Purpose

[edit]

When this template appears in the "Page:" namespace, its single parameter is underlined. In the main namespace, it is italicized. Useful(?) in cases where the scanned original is typewritten and has underlined passages but italics are desired in the final, prepared text.

Example

[edit]
This is an {{typewriter underline|example}} of the template's use.

Limitations

[edit]

Transcluded text in the main article space is italicized only. There is no other choice for formatting, not even elimination of formatting. This may be addressed in the future, such as with an additional parameter (e.g. {{typewriter underline|example|bold}} to put the transcluded text in bold instead of in italics).
