Template talk:Use page image
Add topicThis template creates pages that cannot be transcluded :-(
For example, Page:A Kentucky Cardinal.djvu/2 uses this template, and the page looks just fine. But watch what happens when I transclude that page below using {{Page|A Kentucky Cardinal.djvu/2}}.

- I've updated the template to give a visual clue that the syntax wont work. John Vandenberg (chat) 09:00, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
What is the point of this?
[edit]What is this template intended to do? It seems to be trying to do things it can't (transclude the image/file the into mainspace via the pagespace), though that doesn't look like the original intent. Even if it's not *trying* to do that, it's breaking when the page is transcluded. Is the purpose to try to indicate a page where the file is going to be used in lieu of text or a separate image, at least temporarily? And is it intended to leave a tag in the mainspace? At present it doesn't even categorize the page. Is the the template broken or just misunderstood? I suggest all we need is a template that tags the page with a cat and does not transclude so then we can expressly call for the image and transclude with normal wikitext and transclude it; I have a template to ensure the page size stays consistent and useful at User:Doug/Sandbox3 and it could have the cats in it; but I don't really know if that's the purpose of this. --Doug.(talk • contribs) 10:58, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
