THE HOSPITAL'S DINNER.
Through our special hospital correspondent we have received a humoristic bill of fare of the mess of the Chief Surgeon's office and Medical Supply Depot, consisting of the following members: Harry T. Temple, Anton F. Miller, Robert Anderson and Romain Fair. No wonder that some of them are getting so stout—like democratic aldermen in the States:
BILL OF FARE.
NEW YEAR'S DAY
RELISHES.
Olives, Radishes, Chutney, Celery, etc.
(on account of rainy season could not be got.)
SOUPS.
Mock Turtle, Julienne, Cream Tomatoes.
(this course was left out on account of a wrong. reckoning in the Commissary Department.)
FISH.
Crocodiles a la Filipino, Lizard legs on toast, Mosquito Tongue une gellee.
MEATS.
Roast Pheasant and Marsellaise (common name, U. S. sausages-in tin cans) French Beefsteak with buttons on it (better known as bacon.)
ENTREES.
Rice aux natural, English Plum pudding a la "Jimmy," Sherry Mayonaise dans la hueva.
VEGETABLES.
Potatoes mashed, fried, boiled and stewed (in fact, in any old way.)
Green Peas a la Francaise, and several others (not known in this country therefor not necessary to mention.)
DESSERT.
Chocolate Layer Cake
(like mother used to make.)
Sauce a la manana Sweitzer, Limburger, Hand and Schmier Cheese-Nit. Pineapples, Bananas on the trees. Nuts.
DRINKS.
Coffee a la "Robby," Waterhouse Forbes, Agua pura. Rhine wine, St. Juliene, Champagne Mumm's extra dry and Bino.
