This hymn is a loose translation of the Te Deum, via an anonymous German translation often attributed to Ignaz Franz. The tune is known by many names, including Framingham, Grossner, Grosser Gott, Halle, Hungarian Melody, Laudamus, Paris, Paschal, and Stillorgan. In German, it appears in both Protestant and Catholic hymnals to the text Großer Gott wir loben dich [Great God, we praise thee].

    Lord of all we bow before thee;

  3. Holy Father, Holy Son,
    Holy Spirt, Three we name thee,
    While in essence only One,

    Son of God yet born of Mary,
