BAKER, Lucien, senator, was born in Ohio, in 1846, and at an early age was taken by his parents to Michigan, where his education was acquired. In 1869 he removed to Kansas and settled in Leavenworth, where he studied law, was admitted to the bar, and practised his profession. He was elected to the United States senate as a Republican in 1895. for the term ending 1901.
