The Conservative (Lovecraft)/January 1917/A Request
A Request
The Conservative, as Chairman of the United's Year-Book Committee, will deem it a favour of great magnitude if every recipient of this paper will send him, as soon as possible, a set of autobiographical notes for use in the forthcoming annual. A complete biographical directory of amateurs is planned as a feature of that publication. The following specimen may serve as a guide to what is desired:
647c Campbell, Paul J., Farmer, Printer, Journalist. Born Georgetown, Ill., Nov. 8, 1884. Public School Education. Joined June, 1902, recommended by Ira E. Seymour. Published Ideal Politician, Scottish Highlander, Prairie State Journal, Illinoian, Scotchman, and Invictus. Contributed 59 articles to the amateur press in 1906, his most active year. Elected Director in 1908. Treasurer in 1915. President in 1916. Interested in Literature, Religion, History, Philosophy, and Free Thought.
It is particularly desirable that each member convey some idea of his literary tastes. Those who have already sent biographical matter, either to The Conservative or to The Looking Glass, need not send further matter unless they wish to do so in order to include points previously omitted. The Granting of this request by every reader will help to make the Year-Book the most interesting and valuable number yet issued by the United. The Conservative thanks the membership in advance.
