Song

By Samuel Loveman.

In the spring of the year, in the silver rain,
When petal by petal the blossoms fall,
The robins begin to mate again,
But the heart forgets not all.

For within the budding flow’rs and leaves,
A spirit of Joy awakens and stays;
But the soul of Grief remembers and grieves,
All her lonely and alien days.
