To Vulcan.

Praise Vulcane, now Muse; whom Fame giues the Prise,For Depth, & Facture, of al Fordge deuise;Who, with the skie-eyd Pallas, first did giueMen, rules of buildings, that before did liueIn Caues, and Denns; and Hills like sauage Beasts:But now, by Art-fam'd Vulcans InterestsIn all their ciuill Industries; waies cleareThrough th'All-things-bringing-to-their-Ends, (the yeare)They worke out to their Ages ends; at easeLodg'd in safe Roofes, from Winters vtmost prease.But Vulcan; stand propitious to Me;Virtue safe, granting, and Felicitie.
