BAMBERGER, bäm'bĕrg-ėr, Heinrich von, Austrian pathologist: b. Prague, 1822; d. 1888. He was graduated in medicine in 1847, and became professor of special pathology and therapeutics, first in the University of Würzburg, and in 1872 in the University of Vienna. Of his numerous publications, two have been held in particularly high esteem, ‘On the Diseases of the Chylopoietic System’ (1855), and ‘Treatise on Diseases of the Heart’ (1857).
