BRIDGEPORT, Texas, city in Wise County, about 11 miles east of the county-seat, Decatur, and 43 miles north of Fort Worth. It is on the Rock Island Railroad; and the principal industries are coal-mining and brick-making. There are two banks whose combined resources amount to $420,000. The public buildings include two high schools and a city hall. The government is in the hands of a mayor and council.
