GOLDSCHMIDT PROCESS, method of reducing metallic compounds by aluminum, perfected by Dr. Hans Goldschmidt of Essen, Germany, which overcomes the difficulties hitherto involved through the extremely high temperature necessary to secure the reaction and the explosive violence attendant upon it.
