NAGLEE, năg'lē, Henry Morris, American soldier: b. Philadelphia, 15 Jan. 1815; d. San Francisco, 5 March 1886. Entering the Union army early in the Civil War, he participated in the Peninsular campaign of 1862, and in the following year was appointed to the command of the 7th Army Corps and of the District of Virginia. He retired from the army in 1864, and later went to California, where he cultivated a vineyard at San José, and gave his name to a well-known brandy.
