PATRICK, Mary Mills, American college president: b. Canterbury, N. H., 10 March 1850. She was educated at Lyons College, Iowa, the State University of Iowa and at the universities of Heidelberg, Zurich, Leipzig, Berlin and Berne. She became president of the American College for Girls at Constantinople in 1890. She was a member of the Pyschological Congresses at Munich in 1896 and at Paris in 1900; and of the Philosophical Congresses at Paris, 1900, and at Bologne in 1911. Author of ‘Armenian Translation of Text-Book of Physiology’ (1876); ‘Sextus Empiricus and Greek Skepticism’ (1899); ‘Sappho and the Island of Lesbos’ (1912), etc.
