Ghose, Arabinda. B.A.; s. of Babu Krishnanamadhan Ghose; b., Calcatta. 1872; educ; St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling; proceeded to England to qualify himself for the I.C.S., 189O; failed in riding-test; passed B.A. from the King’s College, 1892; joined service in Baroda; interested himself in the Swadeshi movement in India; resigned service and identified himself with the new movement; was generally regarded as the editor of the now defunct newspaper Bandemataram; prosecuted by Government for alleged political offences, was tried and was acquitted. Believed to be living in Pondicherry, South India.
