Kurupam, Raja of; Sri Raja Veerabhadra Raja, Mahr-i-Dostan; s. of Sir Suryanarayana Raja; b. 1877; educ: privately under Mr. F. J. Moss, M.A., (Oxen); succeeded to the estate, 1898; m. Lakshminarasayamma Garu (deceased), d. of late Sri Raja G. N. Gajapati Rao, K.C.I E., of Vizagapatam; became a member, Newington Advisory Board, Madras, 1905; invited to Madras on the occasion of the visit of H.R.H. the Prince and Princess of Wales, 1905; nominated as an Additional Member, Madras Legislative Council, 1906; Member of the Committee for the management of the Pasteur Institute of South India, Coonoor, 1907; Member, Victoria Technical Institute and Central Agricultural Committee, Madras; keenly interested in the work of the National Indian Association; President, Vizagapatam District Social Conference, 1907; re-nominated a Member of the Madras Legislative Council, 1908; has opened a dispensary and a choultry at Kurupam, after the name of his wife, founded a public market at Vizagapatam, 1905.
