Mallik, Satyendra Chandra, M.A., (Calcutta), I.C.S.; b. 1874; educ: at St, Zavier’s and Presidency Colleges, Calcutta, and St. John’s College, Cambridge; lost his father when he was a boy of 12 years and was left helpless; slowly persevered, and won a scholarship of £300 per annum which enabled him to prosecute his studies in England; joined service, 1897; rose to the rank of Joint Magistrate and Deputy Collector, 1st grade, and was an officiating District Judge of Nadia, 1910; has the reputation of being a benevolent and popular officer; has established a charitable dispensary in his village. Recreation: Golf. Address; Krishnagar, Nadia, Bengal Presidency, India.
