Nagappa, B., Bar-at-law, Mysore; b. in Bangalore, 1877; educ: at the London Mission High School, and the Central College, Bangalore; passed the Language Branch of the B.A. 1896, proceeded to England, and joined the Gray’s Inn where he was called to Bar, 1901; was placed in the 1st Class in the Final Examination and was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Council of Legal Education; won golden opinions from Messrs. Montague Lush, K.C., Dr. A. Underbill, James Scully, Dr. W. B. Odgers, J. W. Macarthy, etc.; the Bachelors of his Inn granted him a special certificate for “Exceptional abilities” and awarded him a prize of £50; returned to India, 1901; enrolled as Advocate of the Madras High Court; worked with the Hon’ble Mr. (now Mr. Justice) J. P. Wallis; removed to Mysore for practice; nominated as Member, Mysore Legislative Council, 1907; one of the non official members who was specially thanked by H.H. The Maharaja in passing the “Village Officers’ Bill”; Vice President of the Vokkaligar Sangha; presided at the Social Conference opened by H.H.
