Napier, Charles F., B.A , Bar-at-Law, Judge, High Court, Madras; 2nd s. of late Hon’ble William Napier, 2nd son of 9th Baron Napier, the 10th Baron having been Governor of Madras, 1866-72, and acting Viceroy of India, 1872 and subsequently created Baron Ettrick (Peerage of U.K.); b. 1862. educ: at Oxford University; passed B.A., 1883; called to Bar (Middle Temple); came out to India and commenced practice in the Madras High Court; appointed Government Pleader, 1909; acting Advocate General, February 1912; officiating Judge, High Court, Madras, July 1912.
