Rai Gagan Chandra, Rai Bahadur (1893), b. 1848; commenced ofificial career in the Famine Department; rose to the rank of Chief Account Officer in the Opium Dept.; travelled in Europe and was present in London in company with his kinsman the Maharaja Tagore of Calcutta, at the time of the Coronation of His late Majesty Emperor Edward VII; granted a Certificate of honour, 1903; retired, 1908.
