Shearer, Colonel Johnston, M.A., M.B., C.M., D.Ph., C.B. (1908), D.S.O. (1898), T.M.S. (retired); s. of late Johnston Shearer, of Aberdeen; b. 1852; educ: Aberdeen University; joined service in India, 1880; served in the Egyptian Expedition, 1883; Burma Expedition, 1887-88; became Surgeon-Major, 1892; Waristan Expedition, 1894-95; Tirah Expe dition, 1897-98; posted as Principle Medical Officer, Derajut; became Colonel, 1910; retired same year; m.
