Susang, Raja of; Kumud Chandra Sing, B.A.; b. 1867; educ: Presidency College, Calcutta; succeeded, 1890; the family had held dominion over Susang and the adjoining wild country from a remote period; some of the members of the family bore the title of Malik; they were paying (Agar) tribute to the Emperors of Delhi, but Aurangzib converted it into a cash payment; the title of ‘Maharaja’ conferred on the father of the present ruler was made hereditary, 1884.
