Veeresalingam Pantulu, Kandukur, Rao Bahadur (1893), Telugu Pandit (retired); b. Rajahnuindry, 1848; devoted his attention to a study of the Telugu language; a staunch social reformer; joined service in the Educational Department as Telugu Pandit, first in the Government College, Rajahmundry, and then in the Presidency College, Madras; has been an Honorary Fellow, Madras University, since 1898. Publications: Lives of the Telugu Poets (3 vols.); Translations of Sanskrit Classical Plays, etc. Address: Rajahmundry, Madras Presidency.
