Venugopal Vachendra Bahadur, Raja, Member of the Venkatagiri family, Madras; 4th s. of late Sri Raja Kumara Yachama Naidu Bahadur Garu, the 27th in the line of succession of the Rajas of Venkatagiri; b. 1873; educ: privately; got his share of the moveable property after the death of his father; receives a monthly allowance of Rs. 1,000 from the family estate of Venkatagiri; proceeded to England in company with his brother, the Maharaja of Bobbili, 1893; had an interview with the late Emperor Edward VII; again visited Europe and travelled all over the British Isles, and visited Germany, Turkey, Egypt and Persia, 1900; bears the whole expenditure in connection with the annual festival of Sivarathri at the Temple of Kalahasti; presented a hospital for animals in Madras, 1899; holds K.I.H.
