BOWKER, Richard Roger (1848—). An American editor and writer. He was born in Salem, Mass., and graduated at the College of the City of New York in 1868. He was a leader in the Independent Republican or ‘Mugwump’ movement in 1879. His publications include Work and Wealth; Economics for the People; Copyright: Its Law and its Literature, and the Annual American Literary Index.
