GUALEGUAYCHÚ, gwä′lȧ-gwī̇-cho͞o′. A city in the Province of Entre Rios, Argentina, situated on the Gualeguaychú River, 12 miles from its junction with the Uruguay (Map: Argentina, F 10). The town has a library and a school, various milling establishments, important manufactures of beef extracts, and an active river trade. Population, 14,000.
