KLOSTERMANN, klōs'tẽr-mȧn, Heinrich August (1837—). A German Lutheran theologian, born at Steinhude and educated at Erlangen and Berlin. He was repetent and docent of theology at Göttingen until 1868, when he accepted a chair of Old Testament exegesis. He wrote: Vindiciæ Lucanæ (1866); Das Markusevangelium (1867); Untersuchungen zur alttestamentlichen Theologie (1868); Probleme im Aposteltext neu erörtert (1883); Zur Theorie der biblischen Weissagung und zur Characteristik des Hebräerbriefes (1889); Der Pentateuch (1893); and Geschichte des Volkes Israel (1896).
