Iztaccihuatl (ēs-tȧk-sē′ hwȧt’l), a Mexican volcano, 16,705 feet in height, is situated not far from the volcano of Popocatepetl, near the city of Puebla. Its summit is almost always covered with snow, and its name means white woman from its fancied resemblance to a woman in a white dress. There are no eruptions now from Iztaccihuatl.
