The New Student's Reference Work/Nucellus

Nucellus, (nū-sĕl' lŭs), (in plants), the main body of an ovule, usually more or less invested by an integument or integuments. It is the nucellus which is really the mega-sporangium and which contains the mega-spore or embryo-sac. See Ovule.
