The Secret of the Tower

From Wikisource
The Secret of the Tower (1919)
by Anthony Hope
Edition: New York: D. Appleton And Company, 1919.

This is the first novel written by Anthony Hope since the beginning of the war in 1914. It is agreeable to find that the novelist has not lost the old-time thrill of "The Prisoner of Zenda." (from The Outlook, 12 Nov 1919) —— A disappointment is in store for those who admired the unquestionable dash, verve, and brilliancy of Mr. Anthony Hope's Zenda stories. It is hard to believe that this book is by the hand that once wrote "Rupert of Hentzau" and "The Dolly Dialogues." (from The Nation, 1919 Oct 4) Find the full reviews on the Discussion page.
